Current Research

I investigate how networks of neurons in the mammalian brain are wired to produce memories, interpret sensory data, and perform other cognitive functions that make sense of our dynamic environments. I use tools from theoretical physics and applied mathematics to model these networks and analyze experimental data. Mike DeWeese is my mentor.

After receiving a PhD in Physics and an MD from the University of Pennsylvania, I decided to pursue a career in research. I hope my quantitative and clinical background allows me to approach challenges in biology and medicine from a fresh perspective. Meanwhile, I’ve taken on beach volleyball, succulents, and attention toward microclimates as I meld into California life.
