Current Research

I am studying the physics of nanoscale devices and circuits and how we can use their properties to build novel computers.

Background

I studied computational neuroscience at Berkeley. My PhD thesis was on the statistics of neural activity in visual cortex. I then cofounded a company called Nervana that built processors to accelerate numerical linear algebra. It was acquired by Intel where I currently work in its corporate venture arm. I was unceremoniously dispatched with a lollipop the last time I was at Berkeley. This time, I won’t surrender as easily.
