We are proud to announce that Yubei Chen (PhD 2019) has joined UC Davis as Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.  At Redwood, Yubei was advised by Bruno Olshausen, where he developed the Sparse Manifold Transform which links the theories of sparse coding, manifold learning, and slow feature analysis. He went on to do post-doctoral work with Yann LeCun at the NYU Center for Data Science and Meta Fundamental AI Research prior to starting his faculty position at UC Davis.
