Connor Bybee has been awarded the Swartz Foundation Fellowship for Theory in Neuroscience to support his postdoctoral work in the Redwood Center. Connor’s research seeks to derive a new class of models that can describe how a neural system can perform the necessary computations underlying sensory perception. The aim is to eventually guide and interpret the results of in vivo experiments on sensory perception, in terms of dynamical systems that perform hierarchical, probabilistic inference.
